Meta- Harvest Feed ForwardFlow of Day 2
|
Summary of Day 2Day 2 began with a framing from linda about how the individual birds who flew in yesterday were now forming into a flock. Today was a day of exploration and moving together. Birds follow simple rules when they fly that enable them to dip and dive together. An emergent day needs just enough structure to hold the chaos. Welcome to the new hosting teams who would be taking us through the day. This was followed by a feed forward, the likes of which had never been seen before. Nana, Jonathan and Jen acted out the entire previous days in a compressed high paced mini-theatre piece. To check in Yannis invited us to think about our dream from last night and share a snapshot of it with the group. Charlie then led us through the Breath Pattern of divergence emergence and convergence, pointing out we were now in the groan/grown zone and so the fact our heads were swimming was to be expected and welcomed! The main bulk of the day was dedicated to Open Space, which was excellently held by the Open Space team. The question was " What Opportunities, Challenges, Inspiration, Questions does AOH present to you now? - 10 sessions were called How do we work with people who are not into this? How to build bridges with mechanistic systems and work with committees? Tools and techniques, methods to apply in innovation How do we work with an expert driven culture that doesn't buy into process? How to bring more balance between order and chaos? What do we mean by leadership? What is a follower? How can we embed these practices and learning into everyday? How do we bring this into creating an inclusive Brighton? Whats below the practices and worldview of AOH? How to bring diversity into chaordic path and living systems? and a few hours of deep conversation ensued, followed by a really informative harvest. To get our energy levels up, we were then invited into a energising activity, whereby we all crossed our arms and held hands in a circle, tangled ourselves up into a jumbled mess and then attempted to untangle without letting go of each others hands. After that the hosting team led breakout knowledge expeditions, on asking powerful questions, graphic facilitation, working with resistance and holding space. Following a break, the World cafe team led us into a harvest world cafe. We were invited to reflect on what moments, ideas and phrases had changed us over the previous few days - after two rounds of conversations sharing our experiences, we harvested back onto a human silhouette selecting key emotions, ideas and tangible action steps from each group. Following a short village news the day was brought to a close by the check-out team and more coaching for day 3 followed. |
